Gallo Matese sits at 875 metres: stone alleys, a lake on the Sava, a dialect still called Ru Uàllë. When a paper writes the name, it is usually because the borgo has put something on the table — a feast, a summer, a road, or a silence worth quoting.
Letino is the next fold of the ridge. The 1877 anarchist band came through here before Gallo. The Festival di Letino still treats the village as if a small town could be a house for the world.
